Most newborn babies are discharged after birth in 24 to 48 hours from the Labor and Delivery Units. We encourage an early visit within the first 48 to 72 hours after the baby comes home. This is to look for jaundice, any excess weight loss and provide appropriate feeding counseling. We encourage all our parents and care givers to fill all the required new patient registration forms prior to the visit. As members of the American Academy of Pediatrics we strongly advise breast feeding exclusively until 6 months of age.
